Estoy leyendo un libro en español para ayudar a aprender español. Estoy teniendo problemas con la palabra "se". Yo nunca se si "se" representa un reflexive verb o reciprocal verb o indirect object pronoun. Tomé algunas de las frases de el libro cuál uso "se". Penso éstos son todo reflexive. ¿Soy corrigo?

I am reading a book in Spanish to help me learn Spanish. I am having trouble with the word "se". I never know if it represents a reflexive verb or a reciprocal verb or an IOP.

I took some sentences from the book that use "se". I think these are all reflexive. Am I correct? And did I translate them correctly?

  1. Lucía se asusto un poco.. ---> Luciá was frightened a bit...

  2. ...pero a la vez se sintió llena de curiosidad... --> --but at the same time she felt full of curiosty...

  3. ... escucho unos pasos que se acercaban. ---> She heard some steps that approached her.

  4. ...una persona...salió de entre los árboles y se aproximó a la luz. ---> and he approached the light.

  5. Las sirvientas se llamaban... ---> The servants were called...

Thank you.

Here are a couple of examples:

  • No se lo tengo. (I don't have it for you) {se = you, IO; lo = it, DO}

  • No, pero me siento mejor si se lo digo. (No, but I feel better if I say it to him.) {se = him, IO; lo = it; DO}

HI Alice, good jobgrin

Las sirvientas se llamaban... ---> The servants were called...

this can also mean: they called each other.
