question about superlatives

Hello, I have a question about superlatives. I have a feeling that the example
El español es (the most romantic) idioma.
the suggested answer, which is,
El español es el más romántico idioma.
seems awkward to me, I would make it
El español es el idioma mas romántico.
referring to this internet page http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/100029/superlative-adjectives
please help me out on this, thanks
