¡Hola a todos!
La ciudad tenía un rol esencialmente ceremonial y espiritual, y está dividida en dos sectores: área urbana y área agricola.
Lo entiendo así: The city had a fundamental spiritual and ceremonial role and it is divided into two sectors: the urban area and the agriculture area.
Por favor, díganme si mi interpretación es correcta o existe otra mejor.
