We know el tiempo can mean either time or weather in Spanish.

But what does "del tiempo" mean in the following context:

In an episode of El Mentalista (TV):

The mafia boss tells one of his henchmen to get the visiting detective a drink. So the detective says to the henchman - agua con gas, sin hielo.

Then he also adds - del tiempo, por favor

??

Means that he wants the water a "temperatura ambiente" without being warmed in a fire or cold from the fridge.

I believe the Spanish must be either from Spain or North America where they are dubbed and Spanish subtitles added. - peterpierre2, Feb 22, 2010
Yup, is in Spain. If you order "agua del tiempo" in summer you will have a nice warm surprise in your mouth xDDD - Zizoun, Feb 22, 2010
