Film Fact:
El Mariachi was made on a budget of only $7,000 US.
The sequel "desperado" 3 years later cost $7 million to produce.
Goes to show how overpaid hollywood is and what people can accomplish with limited resources.

no, 'desperado 3 years later', as in desperado was made 3 years after el mariachi - cheeseisyummy, Feb 22, 2010

Yes Robert Rodriguez is a great director that has many great films under his belt. His first film, El Mariachi, is the only one made in Spanish, to my knowledge.
