Extraño (a) mi familia?
I would think that "extrañar" needs personal a before "mi familia," but I'm seeing a lot of Google results with just "Extraño mi familia" rather than "Extraño a mi familia."
Are they both correct?

I don't think it's correct without the a. There's a lot of Spanish folks that use improper Spanish just like a lot of English folks use improper English.
"Extraño mi familia" = 179,000 hits.
"Extraño a mi familia" = 586,000 hits.
"Extraño mi esposo" = 218,000 hits.
"Extraño a mi esposo" = 198,000 hits.
Then again I could be wrong.
Yes, you need the 'a'. Like jeezzle said it, many folks use improper Spanish
"I miss my family."
"Extraño a mi familia."
I believe that it is extraña a mi familia.
