Looking for the correct spanish spelling of the word (meha?) it's a term of endearment....

looking for the spanishh spelling of this word, it means endearment. I hear it used alot on the tv show Ugly Betty, the dad will say to Betty....Miha or MEHA or?? I asked a spanish teacher once & she repeated it but didn't spell it for me.

"mija" is the contracted way of saying "mi hija" or "my daughter". If talking about "my son" or "mi hijo", the contracted way is "mijo".
