"My Own Metaphor" Game
Have you ever had a phrase or metaphor of your own rattling around in your head and no essay, novel, or song in which to put it? Well here's your chance. Please keep it to a couple of lines, and of course in both Spanish and English. The more creative you are, the more you'll remember the vocabulary associated with your words of wit. (Word-for-word translation is not as important as getting across the feeling of your phrase). Voting will be based upon both creativity and accuracy of language. Here's my example:
Ella, como era buena amiga, le preguntó si era feliz en su matrimonio. Después de una pausa reflectante, él respondió, "La felicidad es un lujo ................... y yo no soy hombre rico.
As she was a good friend, she asked him if he was happy in his marriage. After a reflective pause, he answered, "Happiness is a luxury...................and I'm not a rich man.

Yo había trabajado semanas confeccionando su traje. Por fin llegó el día para que él se lo probara. "¡Mire!" - dijo satisfecho - "Me queda bien, tal como calcetines en un gallo!" ![]()
I had worked for weeks tailoring his suit. Finally the day came for him to try it on. "Look at that!" he said, satisfied. "It fits me like socks on a rooster!"
