"remocion" or "extracción"

"remocion" or "extracción"

Which sounds better, "Esta cirujía es para la remoción" de su colon" or "...es para la extracción" de su colon". Is one more appropriate in a medical context... is one more understood...?

In Spain we always use "extracción". I didnt hear much about "remoción" for medical issues, sounds more like stripping to me.

In fact, the only times i heard about remoción is when a company takes you away the job or the charge.

As I said, it's a matter of opinion. To me "extraer" is more for stuff like pulling teeth. - 00e657d4, Feb 17, 2010
I had thought so, but when I see a word that resembles English, I always double check to see if my "anglo" is incorrect, thanks - pilipina, Feb 17, 2010

It's a matter of opinion. Both are correct, but for me "remoción" sounds better.
