Tenancy agreement translation
Hi, I don't want anyone to think I'm using this site purely to get something for nothing, but I need help. My Spanish is practically zero but I do intend to learn. I have a 4 page (A4) tenancy contract and I'm having trouble, could I have it translated into English from Spanish, if so how? I have copied it to a flash stick and copied that to my imac. Where do I go from there. If someone can help me I would be VERY grateful. I,m not looking for a sympathy vote, but I,ve had 5 stokes and my tenancy problem is sending me potty. If the answer is no you can't help me with the translation thank you anyway.

I would also look for a University with a "Business Spanish" class.. I forgot about that in my earlier answer.
For something with legal implications like that, I would be cautious. If you don't want to pay to have it professionally translated through an agency, I would put a notice in to your local community college teacher or university and maybe one of the advanced upper level students could do it as a project.
Instructors love stuff like this, it's "real world" application. Plus, the instructor would have to review it so it would be like getting a free translator basically. There are resource students could use to access "model" or "example" contracts. "Acuerdo" is usually in the title, and if not, I would make sure it is as there are bigger words that many uneducated people don't understand. I discovered this while interpreting for Dept of Health and Social Services and "Acuerdo" is the most commonly understood word, it means, "agreement."
Hi Ron,
A lot of members are still learning Spanish or learning English and the primary objective of this site to be an educational tool. Such documents need careful and skillful translation by a legally trained translator otherwise you might get into further trouble. I can advise you to ask Heidita, she is one of the administrators (click "members" at the right bottom of the page, she is on page 1). I reckon she knows whether we have members that are properly trained to do what you are asking and whether they can be of help to you.
Good luck!
Saludos, Chica
