Learning Like Crazy: Spoken Spanish Course-Opinions.

¡Hola!

I have just read about a course called “Learning Like Crazy: Spoken Spanish Vol 1 and Vol 2”.

It appears from the reviews it would be helpful in learning pronunciation, and learning the language.

Does anybody know about this course, and if so what opinion do you have about it.

I have it Rol and love it. It doesn't compare to the interaction we have here but when driving in your car it is great to listen to.

I have never heard of this program Rolest, but would be interested to hear more.

The only advice I can say is to try it if it isn't too expensive. I spent quite a bit of money on the Berlitz program, but was extremely disappointed. I have found enough help on the web for "listening" to Spanish. Most of it is free or close to free.

But I guess if I heard of a program that everyone here loves, I might consider checking it out.

Everyone loves Pimsleur and it's only $1000 dollars for the whole course. Or you can rent it from the library. :) - jeezzle, Feb 16, 2010

I have heard of this course and I am interested to see reviews posted. I am currently unsatisfied with Rocket Spanish and am revisting Pimsleur but I am always interested in hearing what others think of new courses. I hope someone that has done this course will reply.

I haven't heard Vol1 but I have Vol2 and actually listened to the first part yesterday quickly. I haven't heard enough of it to give a good opinion, but it seems to be good for brushing up on specific things, like they go over different verb tenses alot it seems like. From what I have heard so far they seem to basically have two people chatting about different things, and use different tenses for verbs in each sentence.

One warning for at least Vol2, I don't think it is meant for complete beginners so unless you have some basic knowledge it will be hard to keep up with them. I am a beginner but I know a little so I was able to keep up with about 50-75% of what they were saying. I'm going to stop using it for now though until I have more solid verb tense understanding.

So my opinion as of now is, overall it would be good for brushing up and delving deeper into speaking spanish, but is not good unless you have a decently solid foundation already. Although I guess for pronounciation purposes it would be good too.
