Would some native Spanish speaker mind explaining the connotative differences between: archivo, expediente, and fichero?

¿Se pronuncia "ch" en archivo como la che o como la ka? Pregunto porque en inglés tenemos una palabra parecida "archive" en la cual "ch" se pronuncia como una ka.

I could be wrong, but since Spanish is highly phonetic, I believe ch is pronounced like ch in church no matter the word. If they had meant for it to have a k sound, I believe they would have spelled it arquivo. - webdunce, Feb 16, 2010

it should be el archivo

"Archivo electrónico," or you can just say "archivo."

Similarly with "expediente" you can add the "electronico" if you just want to specify that it is a computer file.

So, "archivo" or "expediente" work the same.
