What is the difference between "El vaquero está intentando atrapar al ternero." and "El vaquero está intentando atrapar el ternero."? It seem like it should be the calf "el ternero" and not "al ternero"??

al is the combination of two words: a + el I can't see any reason to use atrapar "al" ternero because the verb atrapar doesn't necesitate the word "a" and a ternero isn't a person so there's no need for the personal "a". Frankly, I think atrapar el ternero makes much more sense.

few difference are between actions: for example: tomar el bus subir al bus

did you note the difference?

atrapar al ternero is the correct answer because is an action over the animal

if you say "atrapar el ternero" sounds like an action with the animal, not over the animal

sorry if i mistake my english
