Badges are hard to get. Why?

Why are badges had to get? Why do we have to do the speak part in the vocab?

Hi Kweezy, Welcome to the forum. 
If you fill out your profile, you´ll get a badge and we´ll know more about you and how to answer your questions!
Also, you can get a badge by making a flashcard set.
I don´t think you need to do the speaking part of a lesson in order to get enough points for a badge. At least, I don´t have sound set up on my computer but I´ve still gotten a few badges for lessons.
