What do you shout if you want to attract someone's attention? For example, you see a person in your garden who shouldn't be there and you want to shout out - Hey you? You wouldn't say Permiso, señor........

ummm... too rude :) If you say this, you look and sound angry... - Benz, Feb 11, 2010
This is just the level of rudeness you would use to an intruder in your garden. I think. - 00e8f2fa, Feb 11, 2010
Obviously, one could also use "oiga" but, in the case of an inrtruder, I see nothing wrong with "oye". - samdie, Feb 11, 2010
You would, perhaps, prefer "Oiga, señor volador, ¿ porqué se encuentra en mi jardín a estas horas? - samdie, Feb 11, 2010
you never say intruder... you said you wanted to attract attention. My garden is a front yard open to everybody, I wouldn't be so rude. In Spanish, that statement DOES sound rude to me :) - Benz, Feb 11, 2010
I agree with martini considering the question asked and the circumstances indicated...."a person in your garden who shouldn't be there and you want to shout out - Hey you?" - MexGuy, Feb 12, 2010

I have seen Japanese dramas in which an intruder/thief was addressed as "dorobo-san" (roughly equivalent to "Mr.Thief") but I doubt that, in a similar situation, I would be inclined to use honorifics or formal address.

Your heading, hey there¡ come here !OYE¡ !VEN AQUÍ¡ well we don't use capitals on this site because people will think you are shouting well in this scenario you would be actually shouting so I have made an exeption here.

If you are just trying to attract attention you say:

  • Discúlpame, ¿qué estás buscando? o
  • Discúlpame, ¿puedo ayudarte en algo?
  • Discúlpame ¿a quién estás buscando?
  • Perdón... ¿a quién buscas?

A little more formal:

  • Disculpe... ¿qué está buscando?
  • Disculpe, ¿a quién está buscando?

An very informal, cheeseisyummy gave you the answer:

  • Ey! ¿qué haces ahí?

Oye, ven aqui

could be a mother calling a child or a friend casually calling you over to look at something, "Oye ven aqui, hay algo raro por la calle".

Which means "Hey come (over) here, there's something strange in the street.

It doesn't have to be an imperative it can also be casual.
