It means "to fall in love" in the tú form, so basically for 'you to fall in love.'

I don't want to challenge what you said, because I'm pretty sure you are much, much more fluent than I will ever be. So that I can understand this better...

Wouldn't "enamorarSe" be the verb that you are referencing...the reflexive verb? I know this means "to fall in love", but is there a time when you would put the "te" on the infinitive vs before the conjugated verb (te enamoras)?

For example: No hay que enamorarte de él. There's no reason for you to fall in love with him. - alba3, Feb 12, 2010

It is the infinitive "enamorar" (to love) with the direct object pronoun "te" (to you) attached. It would be used in the way if you have a conjugated verb in front. For example: Puedo enamorarte: I can love you. (Weak sentence, but trying to come up with an example!).

Hope this helps.

puedo enamorarte means: I can make you fall in love for me instead I can love you... - juluque, Feb 11, 2010
OK thanks. Am I completely off on my statement re the use of "te" here as a Direct Obj Pronoun vs a reflexive pronoun? - DR1960, Feb 11, 2010
