Do I use an infinitive afterwards or a noun...? Please give a few examples and what they mean. Thanks!

You can use both.

Me gusta nadar.........I like to swim.

Me gustan los pájaros......I like (the) birds.

No me gusta para nada el humo del cigarro....I don't like cigarrette smoke at all.

No me gusta para nada caminar junto a la carretera....I don't like to walk next to the highway at all.
