Despite putting in long hours at the office and earning a lot of money, at the end of the day, Humberto discovered that living alone, without a family or a companion, his life had been misspent.

It's embarrassing that the Americans waste more than other countries and that much of the climate change is our fault.

Malgasté mucho tiempo aprendiendo el alemán in la universidad. Desearía haber estudiado español.

I wasted much time learning German in college. I wish I had studied Spanish.

He hecho una fortuna pequeña, y lo has malgastado toda.

¡Gracias a Díos y Greyhound te he han ido!

*Y en Inglés-

I've made a small fortune and you've squandered it all

You've shamed me 'till I've felt about one inch tall

But I thought that I loved you and I hoped you would change

So I gritted my teeth and didn't complain.

Now you come to me with a simple goodbye.

You tell me you're leaving, but you don't tell me why.

Now we're here at the station and you're getting on.

And all I can think of is-

Thank God and Greyhound you're gone!*

English lyrics by Roy Clark.

malgastar:

  • (Some people say I squander my money -- not true. I spend my money as soon as I get it to have fun in my life.)
