how do you say hid? (hide in the past tense) how you do say "he hid the boy"? - as in to do an action on another person?

Lo escondió = he/she hid him.
The verb is esconder. You can check the verb conjugator on this site.

As far as I know, esconder defaults to another person. If you want to do the action on yourself, you gotta go with esconderse. Jorge escondió el niño. Jorge hid the boy.
If you want to say that someone is hiding, you would use the reflexive esconderse. Me escondí ayer cuando mi madre me buscó.
If you wanted to say that you hid a person... la mujer le escondió su hijo durante la pelea.
You could also say that something was hidden, you could translate the appropriate form of estar and the participle escondido. Mis llaves estaban escondidos. (My keys were hidden.)
