how do you say hid? (hide in the past tense) how you do say "he hid the boy"? - as in to do an action on another person?

Lo escondió = he/she hid him.

The verb is esconder. You can check the verb conjugator on this site.

As far as I know, esconder defaults to another person. If you want to do the action on yourself, you gotta go with esconderse. Jorge escondió el niño. Jorge hid the boy.

  • If you want to say that someone is hiding, you would use the reflexive esconderse. Me escondí ayer cuando mi madre me buscó.

  • If you wanted to say that you hid a person... la mujer le escondió su hijo durante la pelea.

  • You could also say that something was hidden, you could translate the appropriate form of estar and the participle escondido. Mis llaves estaban escondidos. (My keys were hidden.)
