Fat - Gordo

Gordo is pronounced exactly like "gourd", apart from it just has an "o" on the end smile

Very similar, but not exactly. The "d" especially has a different pronunciation between the two languages in this word. - CalvoViejo, Feb 8, 2010

Grasa - as in fat in meat. Grasa can also mean grease as in cooking. (Not cooking oil....that is aciete de maiz, olivo, etc. But more the rendered fat like when you cook bacon.

ya its gordo but i know that sometimes they will call someone gordo as a sign of affection also. Ex. mother to her daughter - "hola gorda, como te fue"

agreed on using the word GORDITO/GORDITA in an affectionate way. Same as they use FLACO/FLACA (thin or skinny).

"El Gordo y La Flaca" programa de Univision.
