New game! Famous Film titles!

New game! Famous Film titles!

Hi everybody!

I've just come up with a new game cheese. It involves translating for yourself and for others (what a great combination!). Let's translate famous filmtitles into Spanish so that the next person has to uncover the original title and post a new title for the next person to uncover. For example:

If I were to talke about the film The Sound of Music I would translate that as El sonido de música. Films have often been renamed to different titles in Spanish but the starting point of this game is the original English title. It's all about the exercise of translating something familiar into Spanish and the fun of others to recognise the title. And of course, the fun of seeing how long a game can continue LOL For the purpose of preventing confusion feel free to search the web for the Spanish title but that is not the main focus of this game.

I'll start with an easy one wink :

El Padrino

Anyone? Have fun!

Saludos, Chica

Beastmaster

Next: Octogato

The translation is a bit of a stretch on this one, so I'll give a clue: Maude Adams stars as the title character.

Thanks :) I tried some other challenges with varying succes. This idea just seemed fun! Wouldn't you erase your translation of Bailes con lobos for the next person to translate? - chicasabrosa, Feb 8, 2010
Yesero, you are not supposed to give the answer to your own movie - 00494d19, Feb 8, 2010

That is what we must do, translate the title, and then find on the web, if we don't know, the real title. Sometimes it is very different.

Martini, I corrected Maria¡s post. Next movie:

Nice thread, chica, one good idea is to make a translation, and then find the actual name by which the film was opened in the country, sometimes very differentwink
