How do I address a letter to a friend?

Is it just Querido or is there something more informal to use?

Hola is most common from what I've seen, but also Estimado, like Benz says.
But what I like the most is when someone ends a letter, they write 'Salu2'
(salu + dos = saludos)

We normally use "Querido Juan:" but it's also very usual to use "Hola Juan!:". Of course, just with friends. When writing a more formal letter we use other expressions like "Estimado Sr. Smith:"
