Using "frufru"...

I have never heard the word "frufrú" used in context. I know it means "rustle" but can anyone give me some tips or examples of usage? When would you use it in place of other more common words? Thank you!

This word first appeared in the 1992 edition of the Diccionario de la Lengua Española and it is beleived that the late entry was due to the belief that it was a non-Spanish word. Isabel Allende wrote this passage in her La casa de los espíritus:

En eso estaban cuando llegó la Nana arrastrando sus alpargatas, con su frufrú de enaguas almidonadas, a anunciar que en el patio había unos hombres descargando a un muerto.

I was hoping to discover someone who uses the word "frufrú" in their everyday vocabulary but thanks to Benz I have discovered an old song with it's usage! So my next question/challenge is....why is the word frufrú not in our SpanishDict dictionary?

Not the English word frufru! There is a Spanish version "frufrú", and it means rustle...anyone heard about it?

I think of it as something being decorated in an overly feminine style, for example being too heavy on the lace and flower themes, or too delicate overall. I hear it used as an adjective more than a noun, in which case the word is frufru-ey. I don't know if that's how it would be spelled, but here's an example of use:

"I didn't like the way her living room was decorated. It's too frufru-ey for my taste."
