how would you say hometown?

I know homeland is tierra, and town is pueblo, but I'm trying to say that Alejandro Casona's hometown of Asturias was influential in his writing. I'm not quite sure how to say this specifically. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Why don't you try "pueblo natal"?
