My post got erased for some reason, so I am asking again! (my original one that I wrote I am not able to open, that is why I'm having to write again!)

Which one is correct? Soy contenta or estoy contenta?

If you are always happy can you say "Soy contenta?" Or is it always "estoy contenta? I'm having a hard time with these two.

soy contenta means that I am ALWAYS (was born, have been since birth, will be until death) NATURALLY happy and content for no reason other than its your human nature to be a ray of happiness

estoy contenta means that I am happy and content CURRENTLY (there is a reason that you can state)

Estoy contenta...porque one's mood or state of mind fluctuates.

Generally, you should say "estoy contenta," but if you mean to say that you are of a contented disposition or nature, I think you can safely use ser if you add the qualifying phrase por naturaleza...

Soy contenta por naturaleza.

Or, you can avoid the whole issue by saying...

Tengo un carácter contento.
