Which Road To Take (I think this is a difficult problem)

You are driving in a car to get to this town at a specific time, in other words, time is short. It is foggy and you come to a fork in the road. One road leads to the town, the other road leads to a cliff drop, certain death in the fog. On each road stands a man. One man must tell the truth, the other must lie and you don't know which is which. You are allowed one question to find your route. What question do you ask.

Ask either one what the other would say, then take the opposite road.

you ask them both a question that you know the answer to, and you go to which ever one says the truth
