How much time per day do you spend studying your Spanish?

How much time per day do you spend studying your Spanish? How do you study?

I try to spend at least 3 hours a day 5 days a week. I take the weekends off however.

Since I just started, I study this way: 1. Say my ABC's 10x 2. Count to 100 5x 3. Say the Days of the week 10x 4. Say the Months of the year 10x 5. Say the Season 10x 6. Name my body parts 7. Study common phrases 8. Read a Spanish children's book 9. Study my Rosetta Stone for 1-2 hour(s) 10 .Play on Spanish websites

Thanks Mike! There were some very interesting answers to your questions. I guess I am lucky in that I have a Mexican girlfriend who helps me with my pronunciations. Although sometimes she tells me that my Spanish "hurts her ears" LOL.

We seem to be about the same age. I always wanted to visit Australia! I had a chance last year to go but I was going thru a divorce at that time and could not get away.

Very impressive Scott, you are very organized and very determined. I thought I was organized in my studies, but after hearing your regimen, I feel like I have Spanish A.D.D. (attention deficit disorder).

Depending on the day and what is going on in my life, I spend anywhere from one to three hours. Then I spend time here in the forum, which is also extremely helpful. I always make sure, no matter what, that I do "something" every single day. Even on days like Christmas, even if I spend five to ten minutes, I feel like I'm moving forward.

As far as what my routine is, I am much more scattered than you. I usually do have one major area of focus. For example, some of the different areas I have focused my attention are: numbers; days, weeks, months; conjugation of verbs, etc. Lately, I have been working on the subjunctive. The other thing that really helped was to faithfully go through all of the video lessons on this site. My next goal is to go through them a second time, taking notes and really making sure I understand and can apply each and every lesson.

But beyond those areas of focused study, my plan varies constantly. It could include watching Spanish TV, asking Spanish speaking friends to practice with me, working in my grammar books, or any other number of study methods. I do this because it keeps me interested to mix things up a bit.

I wish you well with your studies. I would also suggest working on the many games or challenges available on this site. That is another goal I am setting for myself. There are many great people here, with creative ideas and games.
