Es la verdad?

At first I thought it was just "I present you to..." pero in realidad parece que significa "let me introduce you to.." Te presento a mi amigo Raul. Let me introduce you to my friend Raul. Esto es la verdad?

Chaparrito is correct that the Spanish verb "introducir" is not used when introducing a person to another person.

Hi Jeezzle! I think your question is about the use of the Spanish verb "presentar" for "to introduce (somebody to someone)". Am I close? wink

If so, then yes, that's the verb. The Spanish verb "introducir" is a cognate, but is not used (as far as I know) when introducing a person to another person. The definition in SpanishDict has one entry which is a little vague and might look like it would work. However take a look at this entry from Collins: introducir

And, if that wasn't your question... oops!

"Te presento a mi amigo Raul."

The straightforward translation into English would be "I present you to my friend Raul."

"Déjame/Permíteme presentarte a mi amigo Raul."

The straightforward translation into English would be "Let me present you to my friend Raul."

However, in practice, both the English and Spanish sentences are pretty much interchangeable.

to Introduce it is only used in Spanish when you are introducing a person to a society or group but not to a particular person.

Juan introdujo a Martin a la sociedad española cuando este regreso a Madrid.

Juan fue presentado a Maria por sus padres.

Maria luego, presento a Juan a sus abuelos. raspberry

Si, en Inglés no se usa la palabra prensertar sino introducir para presentar a alguien.
