What tense is this in?
Cuando mi hermano y yo volven al casa...
Because translated it means "when my brother and I return to the house..." I'm not sure what tense it is.

If you say: "When my brother and I return to the house", it could be translated as "Cuando mi hermano y yo volvemos a casa" and that is Present Tense of Indicative Mood.
"when my brother and I return to the house
Cuando mi hermano i Yo regresemos a casa.future imperfect -'am guessing.
Cuando mi hermano i Yo regresamos a casa. -past tense.
I am not happy with the "i Yo part" there must be another way to write it.
Might be, Cuando Yo i mi hermano regresemos a casa.
Cuando Yo i mi hermano regresamos a casa.
Without further context cuando.... could be referring to something habitual or normal, or to a future time.
If it is referring to something habitual it should be indicative mood. If it refers to what will happen in the future it should be subjunctive mood.
Since your verb conjugation was incorrect and you didn't provide enough context, we don't really know which mood or tense it should be (present or future).
Sorry, CalvoViejo, if I just repeated your answer.
Volven isn't a Spanish word. The "en" ending looks like a third person plural (they), so even the ending is wrong in this context.
As Carlos said, volvemos may be the word you're looking for, or you might be looking for the subjunctive, which would be volvamos. It all depends on the rest of the sentence--that's why it's call a dependent clause.
