Help! Posting "Pictures" in answers/questions....

I know how to post pictures, and I have done it quite often. But, I have tried continuously (and failed continuously) to post a "picture" of the webpage that I'm currently on. For example, if I was trying to show a new member on SpanishDict what a certain part of the site looked like to help explain it better.

At first I was using the "Snipping Tool" that came on my computer, but that didn't work. Now I am using a picture editing site called Picnik. This site has made a google chome extension where you can "take a picture" of the webpage your currently on and edit it. So, this is my experiment, the picture all the times before that I've tried hasn't come up (of course, now since I'm talking about it, it will...) ![alt text][1]

Is this a SpanishDict problem or is it a problem withe the specific applications that I'm using?

You mean with that "& # 32" trick you showed in the other thread, right? - webdunce, Feb 1, 2010
" & # 32 ; " without the quotes and spaces as I explained in the other post before... I'm using that trick here... - Carlos-F, Feb 1, 2010

Hi Bookworm, I noticed that there is a space in the name of the page. I think if you replace it with a " %", it will work, like this:

The easiest way for me is to go to the picture, right click, then choose properties and copy the image location.

Thanks for sharing your method of taking screen shots, it´s very helpful!!

but as you see, it didn't come up for you either.....I'm glad my method is helpful for you though :) - hlsbookworm, Feb 1, 2010
OK, now that´s weird, it worked fine in the preview. And, the text of my message got changed as well. It is supposed to say percent20percent, where percent is replaced with %. - kattya, Feb 1, 2010
Can you rename the file without a space? I think the site must somehow remove % automatically, that´s the only explanation for why my text changed. - kattya, Feb 1, 2010
Please, see my explanation below. It works fine with that trick... - Carlos-F, Feb 1, 2010

It's not SpanishDict's problem

This is a screen capture of the page where I opened the thread you mentioned. SpanishDict can post such a jpg image file properly. You must have a link problem (embedment code) or the picture may not meet SpanishDict .com constraints. (probably too large a file size).

To give you a possible example, I did my screen capture with an add-in application to my Firefox browser (FireShot). It asked me how much I wanted the image file compressed, etc. You may have created too large a file to be posted on SpanishDict.
