This is my question: why do the airlines now charge so much for bags? I mean, they used to be free, didn't they? At least one bag on each line was free, even if you had it checked. Some airlines do not charge for extra bags. That is really good. I was just wondering as I may have to travel again. Thanks so much for listening, elo

It just a revenue ploy for not having to increase air fares and to compensate for the added costs from having to do additional security checks on all baggage now.
