I have the same issue. I have a Macbook Pro using Snow Leopard OS using Chrome browser and it won't record my voice.

I'd try it again. Sometimes the program or server just doesn't detect your settings then later on it has no problem. There is no setup program on SpanishDict for your microphone. It just detects whatever the general settings are from your OS (ping the port, etc.) The volume level, gain on/off, echo reduction, and other audio settings would be set on your computer OS. SpanishDict just hijacks the signal to record it. There was a time (when we had a voice/video chat room through Tokbox) that you could adjust your microphone and video camera settings here, but I don't think that exists anymore. I'm not a chat room user so you might want to wait for verification of that fact.

If your microphone works fine everywhere but here, I'd try making an exception in your firewall.

The first step, however, would be to make sure that your microphone is working in other programs or on other web sites and then retry it here. These learning lessons are finicky about loading things (images, speech engines, etc.) to the server or to your page.

I've tried connecting through various wifi hotspots, my 3G card and have no luck. The firewall built in was even disabled. My mic works great for other applications including skype. Is there someone at spanishdict that could provide help? - gliderking, Feb 4, 2010
