Hola a todos!

En la lección 2.2, Paralee da(?) un ejemplo sobre que aprenderas en este lección. Dice "En dos semanas voy a celebrar mis cumpleaños" Puedo no hallar "mis" en el diccionario. ¿Qué significa "mis"?

Hello all,

In lession 2.2 Paralee gives an example about what we'll learn in that lesson. She says"En dos semanas voy a celebrar mis cumpleaños"I cannot find it in the dictionary. What does "mis" mean?Or does she actually say something else?

"ël cumpleaños" / "mi cumpleaños" / "¡Feliz cumpleaños!" would all correspond to "birthday" in English.

"los cumpleaños" / "mis cumpleaños" / "¡Felices cumpleaños!" would all correspond to "birthdays" in English.

Cuando era niño siempre celebramos mis cumpleaños en casa. Ahora prefiero ir a un restaurante para celebrar mi cumpleaños. When I was a child we always celebrated my birthdays at home. Now I prefer to go to a restaurant to celebrate my birthday.

mis = my (plural)

mi = my (singular)

When noun is plural do you use plural possesives?Is cumpleaños plural?

Thank you for your fast answer!

I've just noticed that in the progressing moments there is another example as: "Nosotros vamos a celebrar mi cumpleaños."Why wasn't "mis" used here?

Renaerules beat me to it. It means "my" and it is pluralized to match cumpleaños.

Mi sombrero.

Mis cumpleaños.
