You also need to provide tense and mood. Put hablar into the conjugator as an example of ar verb endings in most tenses and moods. - 0074b507, Jan 31, 2010

Spanish verbs are one of 3 conjugations according to the ending of the verb infinitive: 1st-ar, 2nd-er, and 3rd-ir.

To conjugate (to list the verb stem+endings) for the various persons or subjects of the verb most resources create a table.. The persons, or subjects, are the same as for verbs in English with the exception that Spanish has several ways of saying you where English only has one.

Example: (person (subject pronoun), stem+ending for 1st conjugation (ends in ar) verbs in present tense, indicative mood.

Singular

  • 1? yo habl+o
  • 2? tú habl+as (informal)
  • 2? usted habl+a (formal)
  • 3? él, ella habl+a

Plural

  • 1? nosotros habl+amos
  • 2? vosotros habl+áis (informal)
  • 2? ustedes habl+an (formal)
  • 3? ellos, ellas habll+an

Often the usted, ustedes is listed along with the él, ella, ellos, ellas 3? endings as the 2nd person, formal uses the same endings as the 3rd person.

To see the verb ending for 1st conjugation verbs in other tenses and moods look in the conjugator for a regular verb like Hablar.
