Check out Mexico Bob, an ex-pat living in Mexico. His popular blog is a delight.

He's fascinated with language and details his adventures in mastering Spanish. His humorous dialogs are one of the best features. They deal with ordinary events - ordering in a restaurant, shopping, getting a hair cut, an appointment with a dentist.

The style of writing is often playful, but what comes through is a man who's the best type of "foreigner in a strange land." He's passionately dedicated to learning the culture, respecting it, enjoying it, and most of all, avoiding entirely the stereotype of the so-called "ugly American." In that, he succeeds by any measure.

I changed the title from "Ever Visit Mexico Bob?" It was not drawing the views this helpful, amusing site merits.

His site is fun, inspirational, and very down to earth, especially in the way he presents his "journey" into mastering Spanish.
