Please, could someone proof-read this:

Soy estudiante de español y ahora me enseño a mi mismo, pero tal vez aquí me encuentre a alguien que se me puede ayudar a mejorar.

Ok well I want to know a situation where "se me puede + inf" can be used correctly. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

You need the subjunctive for "pueda" because the person you´re looking for is still hypothetical -- you don´t know yet whether that person exists.

I also suspect it would be better just to say "estudio español", since "estudiante" sounds like you are a student, therefore you have a teacher.

Welcome to the forum, by the way! There are plenty of people here who could help you! smile

I don't know about proof reading since I am a learner too but...

I am a Spanish student and now I am teaching myself, but maybe here I (will) meet someone that can help me to improve. Assuming that is what you want to say, I have a few questions about your sentence contruction.

  1. tal vez aquí me encuentre. Why not tal vez aquí encuentre...I notice you use encontrarse also...I wonder why about that too.

  2. que se me puede ayudar a mejorar. Why use se me puede? que puede ayudarme a mejorar sounds so much better to me. Let's discuss the use of se me puede here. I don't get it although passive is not my strong suit but I really would like to know it better.
