for example, if its hablar or mirar, can i say habla o hablo, and mira o miro?

NOOOO!!!! Verbs do NOT change due to gender. This is a common mistake made by beginners. Verbs change according to who/how many execute the action.

Ex) Hablo- I speak, habla- he/she/usted speaks, hablan- they speak

The ending of a verb is based solely on the executor of the action.

However, the endings of adjectives often change according to the gender/number of the noun being described.

Ex) rojo- red (masc.), roja- red (fem.), rojos- red (plural), rojas- red (plural)
