Does cordero mean something else besides "lamb"?
Because one of the examples for the word of the day is :
"La madre del cordero" means "The crux of the matter."
Thanks,

Well, it gets almost 2.5 million hits on google, so I guess its not uncommon in some part of the world, maybe Spain based on the first few.
Collins doesn´t list any other meaning for cordero.
¡Hola!
From the Oxford Spanish Dictionary:
cordero masculino
A
1 (cría) lamb; contar corderitos to count sheep
2 (carne de cordero) lamb; ( de oveja) mutton
3 (piel) lambskin; forrado de corderito fleece-lined
B
1 (Religión) lamb; Cordero de Dios Lamb of God
2 (familiar) (persona dócil) tb corderito: en clase siempre son unos corderitos they're always as good as gold in class; en casa es un corderito he's as quiet as a lamb at home
I am unaware of this (idiomatic?) expression ; perhaps it is a line from a storybook.
