"Machismo" Are you serious???
I was reading a member's profile and thought about "machismo" See, I am filipina-american, which is really an amazing mix of Spanish roots, language, culture, mixed with tribal culture. Tribal culture is matriarchal. So in the Philippines, most of the doctors are women, and women are actually the leaders. But they know it, so it is never mentioned. They are also very tribal in the sense they don't ever get mad. No, really. They just laugh about everything. Anger is definately not exhibited by men in the same way as in hispanic culture. Excuse the broad generalizations, but let's just be honest. Yet, I am also Christian, and I believe patriarchal American society is very good, also. Hispanics are patriarchal, in case it wasn't obvious... ha ha... due to machismo. So, really, in Spain, do most women really feel like getting on their knees and asking their man what they want that morning, or is that just supposed to be a romantic take on "machismo"...In the US, it's really funny to us to even consider that in a serious way, so in 2010, is this an actual mindset in Spain? I would find that hard to believe... but I have never been to Spain. If this is the case, does this conflict with the attitude of neighboring European countries... just curious...

Well, don't consider that in a serious way at all.It is hard to believe to me too such broad generalizations and topical (cliche) ideas. Does all the citizens of the USA have a gun?. Just curious...
