Well it's most likely mucho not muncho but anyway las quiero would be I want them.

I will throw in my two cents to this unfinished discussion. I could be totally wrong but I want to chime in. Yes las is female gender, and therefore applies to females in this context as far as I can tell. As for why it's "las" that's because the sentence is incomplete. "Las quiero mucho." "Las quiero mucho a mis amigas" "Las quiero mucho a las chicas gordas". It's confusing because we are taught that "les" is them and "las/los" is something different. "A ustedes, las quiero mucho." It's part of a bigger picture. "Las quiero mucho" is a shortened form of what you really want to say, if I am not mistaken. I hope I have helped but then again I could be wrong.

I think the point is missed here. Is there not a very specific reason that "las" is used ? Webdunce, of course you're rite it could be all feminine nouns but to me this sounds like its referring to people specifically because of the word mucho. One of my books says :

I have 3 siblings and I love them very much Tengo 3 hermanos y los quiero mucho.

Based on that I immediately thought that the sentence in question would refer to this same idea but all girls (like nosotras f.e).

As long as we agree that the writer knows that whatever he/she loves/wants is either female people or female nouns. I don't think I've heard "querer" together with "mucho" unless it referred to "love" and not "want". To me "te amo" is for my amante but "las quiero mucho" could be my family or sisters or whatever. Then again I'm a bleeding beginner so I could be sooo wrong...

To me, it seems Spanish is more robust and precise when it comes to emotions or "sentidos" than English. The English word that fits in most of the cases when someone uses QUERER is LOVE, but in Spanish, there the word AMAR[SE] and ENAMORARSE (to love, to fall in love)

QUERER is more of a desire or a want for a specific object, and when used with people, it tends to refer more to the act of lustful longing.

So, my point being, there's one word in English LOVE, which can be expressed three distinct ways in Spanish: querer, amar[se], enamorarse

I am curious. I am thinking of a kid in a toy store, looking at a bunch toys, and he/she wants to say, "I really want these."

How would the child express that if not "Quiero mucho estes?"

Am I not also correct though ? 3rd person pl. DOP : los/las (Them or you guys). Since there is no context we cannot possibly know right ?
