Argentinians, como son ellos?
¡Hola amigos! Buenas noches. I've been wanting to ask a question thats been really bugging me and I dont wanna offend anyone.
Quiero viajer.
Honest answers only please, I would also like to hear from argentinians.
Gracias.

hello, Im from Argentina. I think what you heard is sadly true. Were a racist society in the sense that we look down on non-European faces. However, we are not individually racists. Nobody is openly racist and most of the population has European roots. Theres a sense of xenophobia in close circles but it comes from complete ignorance. I wouldnt say racism is something to be considered when deciding to come here or not. Forget it.
I assure you Micwool that if you decide to come here, to visit us or to work, you will find lots of people very happy to help you and you will really enjoy our culture, which is highly multicultural not only in the capital city but also in our diverse geography as well.
Year after year, more and more people from Central America, Africa and Asia are coming down here due to our open immigration policies.
I'm living in Argentina and I must say they are adorable. As in any other country in the world you'll find some racists and machos but in general, people here are really open minded and welcoming. I've had no trouble so far.
You can read more about [Argentine culture] (http://buenoentonces.com/blog/2010/01/14/beef-booze-and-bueno-entonces/) in the Bueno, entonces blog. They have a program to [learn Spanish] (http://www.generallinguistics.com/learn-spanish) that I used and loved (and I even got the chance to meet the producers because they promised free beer!). Anyways, the program, their blog and facebook page are great resources to learn and improve your Spanish and also learn some cultural stuff.
Hope this helps!
It all depends on where you go in Argentina. In my experience, the further you get away from Buenos Aires the cleaner, the safer, and the friendlier the people are. That is, of course, not to say that people who live in Buenos Aires itself are bad, dirty, or mean.
The people, generally speaking, are friendly and love to talk. They want to hear about what you think about things while you drink mate all afternoon long. Just remember to call them the Islas Malvinas, and not the Falkand Islands. ![]()
The only caveat that I might have is that I am blonde/blue, and obviously American. That may have affected the way that the people react to me.
Hola Clairecai ¿cómo estás hoy? gracias for your help, I appreciate your help. However I must ask you ¿de usted negra o asian?, porque soy una negra hombre.
And as much as I appreciate your help a europeans perception and experience cant be transfered to that of a black or other coloured persons treatment.
Thanks though.
Hasta luego.
I recommend that you visit Guatemala, look for "Semuc Champey" on google or "Tikal"
Thanks guys for all your help, especially mediterrunio for being honest.
