I see that billy-jones has joined Ian-Francis-Hill in the Millionaire's club, with a points total (at this moment) of 1,015, 011.

That is an amazing achievement, and involves a huge amount of hard work.

So Congratulations billy-jones - and now that you are a millionaire, would you like to buy me lunch? wink

Thanks very much to you all and first of all to the Good Lord. I must give very special thanks to my good friend Fidalgo who kept me conatantly motivated. Likewise to Sheila Foste, the beautiful Heidita, and to Paralee, a wonderful teacher who is lovely in every way. I must also salute Ian-Hill, the leader and flashcard king, who cut the trail that I walked and also encouraged me.

Sure, getting points was fun, but I learned a lot and got a good, basic, overall "feel" for the Spanish language. Spanishdict has brought me form knowing nearly zero in Spanish to the point to where I can now say almost anything in Spanish although in a crude way. My grammer still needs a tremendous amount of work. It is a great thrill when I listen to songs that I had memorized phonetically and suddenly realize that I now know what they are saying. I am determined to make Spanish, not my second language, but coequal with English. And I will, even if it kills me grin. I feel I must also mention my muses Anahi and Dulce Marie. To encourage others along the way, let me tell you all some of the things that also happened to me during this time period, all true: 1. My favorite cousin died. 2. I broke off two teeth even with the gum line. 3. I had a flat in the rain and my car jack refused to function, 20 miles from home. 4. I caught a cold (I almost never get sick). First cold I've had in years. 5. I had to battle a torn shoulder joint. 6. I stayed on my diet and lost about six pounds. 7. Numerous other small challenges. So... If I can do it anybody can do it. Don't take excuses from yourself. Thanks again for all the kind words and don't think I am an expert, I have just tried hard to learn. I still have a long, long way to go. God bless you all, my beloved, at spanishdict.com.

Wow, great job! You are an inspiration! Your determination to learn this language makes me feel like a couch potato. tongue laugh I can almost guarantee you that I will never have that many learning points (unless I live to be 150), but still, fantastic effort! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention....

Congratulations!!

Hi Nicole, you are always so kind. You are such a warm person. It is easy. Just drink a lot of coffee, stay up 2 to 3 hours later than normal, miss all your favorite TV shows, and neglect everything else in your life. :-). Thank you for your everything. - billy-jones, Jan 19, 2010
Edit: Thank you for everything, that "your" ,as I am sure you know, was an error. - billy-jones, Jan 19, 2010

iBien Hecho! This is indeed impressive. However what got me to stay was the gracious way Billy accepted praise, way to be: classy. Also, you mentioned the fact that songs you had once memorized are now understood and that sounds like the level of fluency I'd like as it can even be hard to understand lyrics even in English.

Hello and thanks Eddy, thanks very much. Yes, I am determined. I still have a long, long way to go. My goal is to be able to pass for a Mexican, in Mexico. Not easy since I am pelirrojo. - billy-jones, Jan 19, 2010

I can't say anything else. Billy has work very hard. He often earns more than 150K a week and now has had 4 "Student of the Week" badges. He has written a new triumphal story as well as a brilliant history on this website. I don't think this is the end of his ambition. The victory of him is indeed a lesson worth for everyone else to learn.

Congrats to Billy and hope he'll be much more successful. I also hope we'll study Spanish better and better on Spanishdict.com, one of the most helpful websites for Spanish learners all over the world.
