How do you say "milestone" in Spanish? Like in this sentence "The girl has reached a milestone when she celebrates her "quinceanera?"

Thank you! Rebecca

Welcome to the forum!

"Hito" is a word that means a literal "milestone" on a road and it also means "milestone" in a figurative sense.

However, for a quinceañera, I agree with Gus that "acontecimiento importante" or "acontecimiento alegre" or something along those lines is more appropriate.
