How would you ask someone. How was the party? Como fue la fiesta? Como era la fiesta? o my mum says its como estuvo la fiesta and I don't know please help?

You can also say "how did the party go?" Which would be translated "Cómo fue la fiesta?"

"estar" would be the verb to use in this sentence. Since the party was a one-time event, you should probably use the preterite, so your mum was right.
"Cómo" should carry a tilde on the first O when it's a question.
¿Cómo estuvo la fiesta?
