my friend likes to "get around a lot", so his mom called him 'a rodino".i'd like to know what it means.

Welcome to the forum! Another thing to throw out there as wild guesses go...maybe it's a derivitive of rodar which means to travel or go in circles.

This has been sitting here for a bit so I will put this out there. I don't really know but possibly it's a derivative of the word round. Once again I don't really know...
