Sometimes its really hard to translate what you're trying to say. We have to talk in past tense for an autobiography thing.

How would you say "Nicky and I started dating." I wasn't sure if there was a special way to make it "dating" rather than "to date" "dated"

Thank you!

Here's another tough question? You know when you laugh so hard soda comes out your nose? So how would you say "I laughed so hard soda came out my nose."? - XtintedXcrimsonX, Jan 17, 2010
Hi X, welcome to the forum. You´ll get better results if you put this in a separate question. There are some expressions like "me reí a carcajadas" = I burst out laughing, but I don´t know about the other part... :) - kattya, Jan 17, 2010
Lol thanks! - XtintedXcrimsonX, Jan 17, 2010

Nicky and I started dating

to date: to go out with: salir conwink

Nicky y yo empezamos a salir en octubregrin

Salgo con Nick. I am dating Nick.

Welcome to the forum, I'll try to explain you

Niky and I started to dating = Niky y yo empezamos a salir

Date= fecha=cita fecha=speaking about time on the calendar. CITA 1= salir con una chica(to the restaurant, to the movies, to the amusement park, etc.)

CITA 2 = appointment( with the doctor, for work.

I'll be watting for your answer.

Tough question you just asked, but welcome to The Forum, anyway.

I tried using the Translation feature at the top of the screen and got 3 very different translations. You might like to give it a try, too.

But at least I did learn that "to date" is fechar.

So, you may do better by using "to date" rather than "dating."

Hope this helps a little bit, but hang in there: some native speaker will soon come along with a better answer, I'm sure.

yeah I tried that and yeah, it didn't seem right, considering la fecha is like the "date" as in the day - XtintedXcrimsonX, Jan 17, 2010
See? I told you some smarter person would come along! I just learned something new, too. Thanks, Heidita. - 0057ed01, Jan 17, 2010
