Has anyone ever taken a ballet class in a spanish speaking country? Was the class completely taught in French or a mixture of Spanish with the names of the steps in French?

I am a dance teacher and one of my students had this question for me. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences out there to relate to me.

Thank you!!!

Here is the link for the article volpon was referring to. Wow! Great article. Answered my question and SO much more. Very interesting. Thank you.

You might Google "teaching ballet in Spanish countries."

I just did, and there's a terrific article via San Francisco that seems to suggest that French is indeed one of the basics.

But as interesting are the other influences. Very eclectic, as most ballet has become over the ages.

I enjoyed reading the article, so thanks much for your question!

My experience with translating karate is that most of terms remain the same. Try the Wikipedia in Spanish. That was suggested to me for my quest for karate translations. It is a real "eye opener". ¡Me gusta su pregunta! Muchas Gracias. Juan20112
