Libros buenos?
Does anyone know of some good books or short stories in Spanish that would be at beginner or intermediate levels?

To challenge an intermediate learner try C.S. Lewis' books in Spanish, especially The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe...paired with a good dictionary of course. These worked real well for me for two reasons. 1. They were written for children so the language isn't too challenging..... but the story line still interests an adult! And: 2. I know the story line enough so that I can guess some of the words I don't know before looking them up! Hope this helped!
I am currently enjoying the Spanish translation of Junie B. Jones y el cumpleaños del malo de Jim. It is a short chapter book for kids and very silly so it keeps reading fun while being challenging. So far, much of what I read is in the past tense which really helps me learn that tense. I picked it up for $3.99 at Borders.
You probably need to be more specific on the type of books that you are calling "good" books. I prefer children's chapter books because the vocabulary is less daunting. I tried reading classic Spanish short stories, but the vocabulary was too stilted or difficult. You almost need to progress up the age level books as if you were a child. You might like to read technical journals in you native tongue, but I don't think that you''ll find the same material interesting in Spanish until your abilities mature.
