¡Enhorabuena Samdie! Has ganado 20,000

Someone has brought it to my attention that one of our most venerable members, Samdie, has recently attained the distinction of having earned 20,000 reputation points in the Spanishdict forum. I am in awe.

In light of all the celebratory threads opened in recent months to recognize the achievements and contributions of our wonderful members, I would feel extremely remiss if I were to let this milestone pass without first offering a personal congratulations to you Samdie for this achievement. More importantly, I would like to offer you my gratitude for the tremendous amount of helpful advice and knowledge that you have added to this site.

What I appreciate most is your consistency in posting concise, well organized, well thought-out, intelligent and informative answers. I appreciate the fact that if I see your avatar, I can be assured that the post that follows will be worth reading and paying attention to. Who else could have even garnered praise from the illustrious and mythical figure of Lazarus himself, a much respected member whose own words of praise were probably even rarer than finding a well thought-out, short or concise post by Izanoni:

[Es el] que más aprecio en foro...

I hope that everyone else will join in in echoing these sentiments and in thanking Samdie for all the help and wisdom that he has offered on his way to attaining these 20,000 points. Thank you Samdie and ¡Felicitaciones!

Now here´s a man who speaks a lot of sense and his answers are always interesting. Not only that, I once heard him speak Spanish on the voice chat of our previous site and he has a very good accent. I think he deserves many congratulations.

I want to join Izanoni1 and echo his sentiments:

What I appreciate most is your consistency in posting concise, well organized, well thought-out, intelligent and informative answers. I appreciate the fact that if I see your avatar, I can be assured that the post that follows will be worth reading and paying attention to.

And I will add that ".....the post that follows [when one sees Samdie's avatar] will be fun to read!!"

Knowing people like Samdie might be reading, answering, posting, helping....that is what keeps people in the forum, visiting and coming back....why someone even opened a thread about being addicted to the site!

I congratulate you also, Samdie! I feel that your 20K is really worth 40K or 50K. You are usually the last one, or close to last one, to post a comment on a thread. In many cases most people by that time have moved on, thus not voting on your comment. However coming in at the tail end also means that your comments are always well thought out and nearly always address some aspect that was missing in the discussion, which rounds it out wonderfully. Many of your comments are sitting out there with 0 Votes, not because they aren't valuable, but because not enough people care as much as you do to think things through as thoroughly and stick around to read even the very last comment offered on a thread.

However having read many of your posts, I get the distinct impression (albeit wrong, perhaps) that you will think this hype and excitement over your 'achievement' is totally unnecessary. Maybe I'm wrong, but you seem to be the type of person who cares little about reputation points (which are a mix of 'value-ratings' and 'popularity-ratings') but who cares deeply about offering informative, insightful comments that cut to the chase.

Well, if that is truly how you feel, then I apologize (wink) for just having to say Congratulations! All joking aside though, I've learned a lot from you from Day 1. Please don't stop providing your valuable input, strong opinions and all. smile

For those of you who haven't experienced Samdie's guidance, here is a classic example:

I said this about 'B vs V' pronunciation.

Samdie challenged my answer in this reply.

I was taken back at first, but then did some more research and responded here.

Thanks Samdie!
