el cisne gimiendo
but that doesn't sound nearly as poetic as the English
the moaning swan
You might try el cisne que gime... but really gemir just doesn't have the same sound as gemir. Let me look into this some more. Maybe there's a better word out there.
Okay, I've looked into some synonyms and the closest I can get would be
el cisne llorando
But I think this sounds best:
el cisne de luto
Which means the mourning swan
you can use :
El cisne gimiente.
but I really liked:
el cisne de luto
Hi Bribert, Welcome to the forum! Is this the title of a song or something similar?
I´m asking because it depends on whether you need the phrase to scan in a certain way. The most direct translation is "el cisne que gime" or "el cisne que lamenta", but that doesn´t sound very poetic.
If you need it scan better, you might try "el cisne lúgubre" or "el cisne melancólico" (these both mean "the mournful swan").
Or you could try "el cisne llorón", which is weeping. "Moaning Myrtle" from Harry Potter is "Myrtle La LLorona".
Also, if your swan is female, I guess you change to "la".
El cisne que gime. = The swan that moans
